About Us

Hi, I’m Jason “Dr. J” Slone, PhD, CCFC,.

I’m a former university Dean turned Financial Advisor who helps families with paying for college (and beyond).

College now costs $125k-$350k per kid.

If you’re upper income ($150k+), you won’t get any need-based aid help.

If your student is in high school, it’s too late to save enough.

You need a plan.

The good news is there are many things you can do to lower the cost.

You just need to know how the system works and what to do.

That’s why I created Ivy Bridge - to educate parents on how the college financial system works so they can put their kids through school without taking on a pile of debt or depleting their savings.

PS - I also eat my own cooking. I’m the parent of 3, with 2 in college now (who’ll graduate debt-free).

What Parents Say

“I highly recommend Jason for all your college financial planning needs. We were clueless when we started this journey and with his help we learned what schools were a good financial match for our daughter. Jason was also extremely helpful in navigating the confusing FAFSA process. Working with Jason helped us maximize our financial picture for college. I would not recommend going this alone and Jason can be a helpful, thorough, and knowledgeable support in this process.” - Dr. Jessica R., Psychologist

“Dr. J assisted me in getting ready to complete our financial aid forms. He made suggestions I overlooked initially. With multiple kids in college, 529 plans, and a recent change in family circumstances, his advice saved us a substantial amount of money. More importantly, based on his advice, the choice of which college to attend did not depend on the cost. You can send your kids to college without Dr. J’s advice - but I wouldn’t.” - Timothy P., Attorney

“We had a funding gap at the college our daughter attends, and had questions about getting loans to cover it. Dr. J helped us understand the student and parent loan landscape, which loans were best for our situation, and strategies for managing the debt after graduation. This allowed us to make informed decisions. Very helpful, highly recommend.” - Brett B., Business Executive

“Without Dr. J, I never would have learned about a simple way to get access to $20k for each one of my twins, $40k total, who are attending college at the same time. This was just from my first call with Jason. A little goes a long way!” - Seth C., Entrepreneur

“Jason was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in navigating the financial aid and FAFSA process!” Cathleen W., Retiree
